Results of Morningstar Malaysia Awards 2015 (2015 Unit Trust Fund Winners Selected By Morningstar)

Despite not being as glamorous and well known as compared to Lipper Fund Award, the annual Morningstar Malaysia Awards 2015 is the only other coveted award that Fund Houses hope to achieve/win.

Result of the Morningstar Malaysia Awards 2015:
There are only 7 Categories from this award. A small number if you compare with the 51 Awards offered by Lippers.

Anyways, the winners for each category are shown below:

Fund such as CIMB Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income and Affin Hwang Select Income are also winners at the the Lippers Awards. Both these funds are justified winners based on the excellent returns vs their risk category.

As for the other winning funds from the Morningstar Award, the same can't be said as I believe their rival winning funds over at Lippers Award performed better.

Cheers and Happy Investing!

Lipper Fund Award 2015 - Start Investing In Consistent Winners

Now that the results are out, the next one year will see the big winners making full use their triumph to promote and attract investors into investing in their funds. In addition, the tides have certainly turn this year as lesser known fund houses such as RHB Asset Management and Eastspring Investments Berhad emerged as big winners, triumphing over famous fund houses such as Public Mutual and CIMB.

For this year's Lipper Fund Award 2015, a total of 51 individual awards were given out as compared to 43 last year. The biggest winner was RHB Asset Management with 12 awards followed closely by Eastspring Investments Berhad with 10 awards.

The breakdown of awards won according to fund houses are as shown below. Plus, I've also taken the liberty to include records of past awards won by fund houses in 2013 and 2014 for your reference and comparison.

Never the less when it comes to deciding which fund to invest in, it is not determined by the number of awards won by a fund house.

Instead what matters more is to determine the funds that have consistently remain as award winner year after year after year!

The good news is, Invest Made Easy have kept records of winners of each individual awards from 2012 till 2015. From there we are able to track funds that have consistently won their respective category consistently.

Shown below is the historical record of winning funds according to their categories from 2012 to 2015. The ones that are highlighted in GREEN indicate that a fund has won that categories twice or more in a row. Meanwhile highlighted in ORANGE are new categories introduced this year.

The table is rather long so if you don't intend to analyze, you may skip and go directly to the summary portion (after this table) where I have summarize funds that have won twice or more consecutively.
